Special Deputy Receiver Asks Court To Disallow Claim

(February 25, 2016, 9:02 AM EST) -- AUSTIN, Texas — The special deputy receiver (SDR) of an insolvent insurer on Feb. 3 asked a Texas court to affirm the denial of a claim against the insurer’s liquidation estate (The State of Texas v. Universal HMO of Texas, Inc., No. D-1-GV-13-000384, Texas Dist., Travis Co., 345th Jud. Dist.).

The Travis County 419th Judicial District Court placed Universal HMO of Texas Inc. into liquidation on May 17, 2013. Texas’ insurance commissioner was appointed liquidator.
