Government Asks D.C. Circuit To Vacate NSA Data Collection Injunction As Moot
Mealey's (February 22, 2016, 2:23 PM EST) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a Feb. 19 brief in the District of Columbia Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, the federal government argues that a trial court’s grant of a preliminary injunction to plaintiffs seeking to stop the National Security Agency’s data collection activities under the USA Patriot Act should be vacated as moot in light of that act’s expiration (Larry Elliott Klayman, et al. v. Barack Hussein Obama, et al., No. 15-5307, D.C. Cir.).
