Wikimedia Asks 4th Circuit To Reinstate Complaint Over NSA’s Upstream Surveillance

Mealey's (February 19, 2016, 2:05 PM EST) -- RICHMOND, Va. — In a Feb. 17 brief in the Fourth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, a group of “educational, legal, human rights, and media organizations,” headed by Wikimedia Inc., say that a lower court improperly dismissed their constitutional challenges to the National Security Agency’s “upstream surveillance” program that they say subjects many of their communications to collection and review (Wikimedia Foundation, et al. v. National Security Agency, et al., No. 15-2560, 4th Cir.).
