Federal Judge Finds Mars Had No Duty To Disclose Labor Practices
Mealey's (February 19, 2016, 1:58 PM EST) -- SAN FRANCISCO — After finding that a maker of chocolate products has no duty to disclose child and forced labor practices in Côte d'Ivoire, a California federal judge on Feb. 17 granted the company’s motion to dismiss claims for violation of California's unfair competition law (UCL) and other claims against it (Robert Hodsdon v. Mars Inc., et al., No. 15-cv-04450, N.D. Calif.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 19268).
