Ex-New York Politician: Prosecution Lacks Evidence Of Asbestos Claims Quid Pro Quo
(February 16, 2016, 1:30 PM EST) -- NEW YORK — Because asbestos case leads are not transferrable property and there is no evidence that the leads were exchanged in a quid pro quo arrangement, prosecutors instead built a case through “wholly inappropriate” and prejudicial evidence, former New York Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver argued Jan. 21 in asking a federal judge for a new trial or acquittal (United States of America v. Sheldon Silver, No. 15-93, S.D. N.Y.).
