Widow’s Wrongful Death Lawsuit Removed To Florida Federal Court

(February 12, 2016, 10:07 AM EST) -- TAMPA, Fla. — An October state court complaint against two tobacco manufacturers was removed Jan. 27 to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida (Geneva A. Cook-Gervais v. R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, et al., No. 16-55, M.D. Fla.).

According to plaintiff Geneva A. Cook-Gervais, the death in October 2013 of her husband, Eugene Louis Gervais Jr., a lifelong smoker, is attributable to the actions of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and Philip Morris USA Inc.
