Judge Will Not Remove Co-Lead Counsel In GM Ignition Switch MDL
(February 11, 2016, 12:00 PM EST) -- NEW YORK — The judge in the General Motors ignition switch multidistrict litigation on Feb. 10 denied a plaintiff attorney’s request to remove the plaintiffs’ co-lead counsel in the MDL, saying the motion was little more than “Monday morning quarterbacking” (In Re: General Motors LLC Ignition Switch Litigation, No. 1:14-md-02543, S.D. N.Y.).
(Order available. Document #77-160224-001R.)
U.S. Judge Jesse Furman of the Southern District of New York also said the motion was untimely and did not meet the rigorous standards for reconsideration.
