California Appeals Court Denies Promissory Estoppel Motion

(February 10, 2016, 3:49 PM EST) -- SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A California appeals court in an unpublished Feb. 9 opinion ruled that a trial court did not err in denying a motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict based on promissory estoppel filed by unsuccessful applicants for a Kawasaki franchise (R&T Investments Inc., et al. v. Kawasaki Motors Corp., et al., No. C078231, Calif. App., 3rd Dist.; 2016 Cal. App. Unpub. LEXIS 931).
