Federal Judge Upholds $4.76 Million Verdict In Fatal Amtrak Crash

(February 9, 2016, 1:12 PM EST) -- RENO, Nev. — A federal judge in Nevada on Jan. 25 upheld a $4.76 million verdict, denying a trucking company’s motion for a new trial in a case in which one of its trucks crashed into a moving Amtrak train, killing six people (National Railroad Passenger Corporation, et al. v. John Davis Trucking Company, Inc., No. 3:11-cv-00461. D. Nev.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 8252).
