U.S. House Passes ACA Individual, Employer Mandate Exemption Bills

Mealey's (June 10, 2015, 9:05 AM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. House on March 11, 2014, passed a trio of bills seeking to grant additional religious exemptions from the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA)’s individual mandate and excluding military personnel and emergency services volunteers from the law’s individual and employer mandates.

The first of the bills, House Resolution 1814, amends Section 5000A of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, was introduced in April.
