(February 3, 2016, 3:24 PM EST) -- SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) and the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) on Jan. 29 reached a settlement in their dispute over allegations that the BOEM violated federal law by approving permits for hydraulic fracturing operations off the California coast (Center for Biological Diversity v. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, et al., No. 15-1189, C.D. Calif.).
