Chinese Drywall MDL Judge: Woman Responsible For Delays In Remediation

Mealey's (February 3, 2016, 1:19 PM EST) -- NEW ORLEANS — The federal judge in Louisiana presiding over multidistrict litigation stemming from allegedly defective Chinese-made drywall on Feb. 1 affirmed a special master’s decision denying a woman’s request for delay payments as a result of code violations that occurred during the remediation of her rental property, holding that the plaintiff was not entitled to additional relief because she was responsible for the code violations that delayed the repairs (In re: Chinese-Manufactured Drywall Products Liability Litigation, MDL 2047, E.D. La.).
