European Union, United States Agree On Privacy Shield

Mealey's (February 3, 2016, 12:51 PM EST) -- WASHINGTON D.C. — In a Feb. 2 statement, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker announced that the United States and the European Union had reached an agreement on the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield, which she called “a major achievement for privacy and for business on both sides of the Atlantic” (EU-U.S. Privacy Shield, U.S. Dept. Commerce).
