Prempro Breast Cancer Complaint Dismissed On Pleading Shortcomings

(February 2, 2016, 2:09 PM EST) -- MIAMI — A Florida federal judge on Feb. 1 dismissed without prejudice a woman’s claim that Prempro hormone replacement therapy caused her to develop breast cancer (Maggie Tsavaris v. Pfizer, Inc., et al., No. 15-21826, S.D. Fla.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 11465).

In 2005, Maggie Tsavaris’ gynecologist prescribed Prempro, which was made by Wyeth (now Pfizer Inc.). A few months later, a gynecologist in the same practice told Tsavaris to discontinue Prempro.
