4th Circuit: Qui Tam Lawsuit With Different Plaintiffs Is Still Barred By Statute

(February 1, 2016, 2:29 PM EST) -- RICHMOND, Va. — The Fourth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals on Jan. 29 confirmed that a False Claims Act lawsuit by the wife of a former OxyContin relator and a new whistle-blower using the same attorney is still subject to the public disclosure bar (United States, ex rel. Steven May, et al. v. Purdue Pharma L.P., et al., No. 14-2299, 4th Cir.; 2016 U.S. App. LEXIS 1497).
