(February 1, 2016, 2:28 PM EST) -- SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — A South Dakota federal judge on Jan. 25 dismissed claims by three tribal officials against two other tribal officials and federal government parties seeking an accounting of $24 million in federal funds, finding that the government had not waived its sovereign immunity and that the claims against tribal officials must be decided first in tribal court (Kevin Wright, et al. v. Orville [Red] Langdeau, et al., No. 15-4097, D. S.D.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 8576).
