Proposed Federal Rule For Oil, Gas Wells Would Limit Flaring, Venting

(January 22, 2016, 3:18 PM EST) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) on Jan. 22 proposed an update to its regulations pertaining to flaring, venting and leaks from oil and gas production operations on public and Indian lands that would affect traditional drilling and hydraulic fracturing operations in an effort to reduce waste, as well as the release of methane and other harmful emissions.
