Mealey's (January 22, 2016, 1:39 PM EST) -- LOS ANGELES — After finding that a restaurant and its owners violated Title 47 U.S. Code Section 605 when it unlawfully broadcast a program in its establishment, a California federal judge dismissed claims for conversion and violation of California's unfair competition law (UCL) as moot and awarded the owner of the distribution rights to the program $14,700 in damages (J&J Sports Productions Inc. v.
