Government Reaches $1.7B Hague Claims Tribunal Settlement With Iran

(January 20, 2016, 2:46 PM EST) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Department of State on Jan. 17 announced that it has reached a $1.7 billion settlement with Iran, resolving a longstanding dispute over a trust fund before the Iran-U.S. Claims Tribunal.

The Department of State said in a news release that the settlement resolves a long outstanding claim asserted by Iran that was pending at the Iran-U.S. Claims Tribunal in the Hague, the Netherlands.
