Group Asks High Court To Overturn Decision Allowing Gambling Facility

Mealey's (June 17, 2015, 10:13 AM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — A group opposed to a gambling operation on Native American grounds in the State of California on April 9 filed a petition for writ of certiorari with the U.S. Supreme Court, seeking to overturn a decision upholding the legality of a compact the state entered into with the Federated Indians of the Graton Rancheria to operate the casino (Stop the Casino 101 Coalition, et al. v. Edmund G. Brown Jr., as governor, et al., No. 14-1236, U.S. Sup.).
