HHS: ACA Plans Must Accept Specialty Support Programs

Mealey's (June 10, 2015, 8:54 AM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) insurers must accept payment from federal and state programs that provide premium and cost-sharing support for specific individuals, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced March 14, 2014.

The new rule requires qualified health plans and stand-alone dental plans to accept premiums and cost-sharing payments from the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program and other, similar programs covering Indian tribes, tribal organizations and urban Indian organizations.
