2nd Circuit: Native American Tribes Are Not Covered Employers Under Title VII

Mealey's (June 17, 2015, 10:05 AM EDT) -- NEW YORK — Native American tribes are expressly excluded from Title VII Civil Rights Act of 1964’s definition of covered employers, the Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruled April 7 (Elizabeth Tremblay v. Mohegan Sun Casino, No. 14-2031, 2nd Cir.; 2015 U.S. App. LEXIS 5527).
