Magistrate Judge: Residents May Amend Claim For Groundwater Contamination
(January 14, 2016, 2:58 PM EST) -- LAFAYETTE, La. — A federal magistrate judge in Louisiana on Nov. 19 partially dismissed a lawsuit against Exxon Mobil Corp. and another oil company but let stand some causes of action against the companies by residents who contend that oil and gas exploration activities contaminated their groundwater (Emile Levet Jr. v. Exxon Mobil Corp., No. 15-2069, W.D. La.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 174228).
