Federal Judge Compels Arbitration Of Fraud And UCL Claims Against BBQ Franchise

(January 13, 2016, 10:50 AM EST) -- SAN FRANCISCO — A California federal judge on Nov. 11 granted a barbecue restaurant franchiser's motion to compel arbitration of claims for violation of franchise agreements, finding that one agreement was enforceable and that another provides that the issue of arbitrability must be decided by an arbitrator (Meadows v. Dickey's Barbecue Rests. Inc., No. 15-02139, N.D. Calif.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 153385).
