Town: Fracking Industry Claim That Law Banning Wells Is Unconstitutional Fails

(January 8, 2016, 11:54 AM EST) -- PITTSBURGH — The municipality in Pennsylvania being sued by a hydraulic fracturing company and an industry interest group that challenge a local ordinance prohibiting underground injection control (UIC) wells on Dec. 28 filed a brief in Pennsylvania federal court arguing that the case should be dismissed as “moot” for failure to state a claim and lack of jurisdiction (Pennsylvania General Energy Company LLC v. Grant Township, No. 14-209, W.D. Pa.).
