Class Members: Proposed Fracking Settlement Is Not ‘Reasonable Or Fair’

(January 8, 2016, 11:50 AM EST) -- HARRISBURG, Pa. — A Pennsylvania couple that is part of a class action against a hydraulic fracturing company in a royalty dispute lawsuit on Dec. 28 filed a brief in Pennsylvania federal court objecting to final approval of a settlement on grounds that the release contained in the settlement is overly broad and “purports to release all claims” of leaseholders relating to royalty payments (Demchak Partners Limited Partnership v. Chesapeake Appalachia LLC, No. 13-2289, M.D. Pa.).
