California Federal Judge Says Denial Of Benefits Was Not Reasonable
(January 8, 2016, 10:33 AM EST) -- LOS ANGELES — Because the evidence presented during a bench trial does not support that a disability insurer’s denial of a long-term disability claim was reasonable, a California federal judge on Dec. 18 granted judgment in favor of the disability claimant (Felanice L. Yancy v. United of Omaha Life Insurance Co., No. 14-9803, C.D. Calif.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 172233).
