Magistrate Judge: Insured Properly Stated Claim For Relief In Bad Faith Suit

Mealey's (January 7, 2016, 2:48 PM EST) -- GALVESTON, Texas — A federal judge in Texas on Dec. 23 denied an insurer’s motion to dismiss in an insurance bad faith lawsuit, ruling that the district court has personal jurisdiction over the claims and that the insured in the action has properly stated a claim for relief (Kirstin Walker, individually and as next friend for L.W., a minor, v. Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oregon, et al., No. 15-064, S.D. Texas; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 171074).
