Texas Supreme Court Urged To Apply Accommodation Rule For Groundwater Right Owners

Mealey's (June 17, 2015, 8:40 AM EDT) -- AUSTIN, Texas — Two Texas cattle associations on Nov. 18, 2014, urged the Texas Supreme Court to apply the oil-and-gas accommodation rule to severed groundwater rights in a case that pits a ranch owner against a city that wants to drill 80 wells to access groundwater it owns under the ranch (Coyote Lake Ranch, LLC v. The City of Lubbock, No. 14-1572, Texas Sup.).
