Attorney Fees Reversed, Issue Remanded In California Desalination Project Case

Mealey's (June 17, 2015, 8:37 AM EDT) -- SAN JOSE, Calif. — A California appeals court on Nov. 17, 2014, reversed a $1,285,510 attorney fee award for a nonprofit farmland preservation group, saying the trial court needed to determine if the group was the catalyst in stopping a central state desalination project (Ag Land Trust v. Marina Coast Water District, No. H039559, Calif. App., 6th Dist.; 2014 Cali. App. Unpub. LEXIS 8179).
