Coloplast, Distributor Pay $3.66M To Resolve Federal Kickback Allegations

(January 5, 2016, 5:49 PM EST) -- BOSTON — Medical device maker Coloplast Corp. will pay $3.16 million and distributor Liberator Medical Supply Inc. will pay $500,000 to resolve federal civil allegations that Coloplast paid kickbacks to Liberator to conduct promotion campaigns designed to refer individual users to Coloplast products, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts announced Dec. 22 (United States ex rel. Herman, et al. v. Coloplast Corp., et al., No. 11-12131, D. Mass.).
