Pfizer, Plaintiffs Battle Over Responsibility For Subsidiary’s Asbestos Liability

Mealey's (January 4, 2016, 10:31 PM EST) -- SEATTLE — In recent briefing, Pfizer Inc. told the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals that it was not liable as the manufacturer of asbestos-containing products of a subsidiary, while plaintiffs argued that the Washington Supreme Court should decide how to apply the apparent manufacturer doctrine (Shareleen Sprague, personal representative of the estate of James Olson v. Pfizer Inc., No. 15-35051, 9th Cir.).
