Purdue Pharma, Janssen Pay $39.5M To Settle OxyContin, Risperdal Allegations

(January 4, 2016, 12:50 PM EST) -- FRANKFORT, Ky. — OxyContin maker Purdue Pharma L.P. and Risperdal maker Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc. have agreed to pay Kentucky a total of $39.5 million to settle allegations by the Kentucky attorney general that Purdue Pharma misrepresented the addictive nature of its drug and that Janssen marketed its drug for off-label purposes, the Attorney General’s Office announced Dec. 23 (Commonwealth of Kentucky, ex rel.
