19 Calif. Water Authorities Sue State Water Board Over Drought Water Supply Cutoff

Mealey's (June 17, 2015, 8:27 AM EDT) -- FRESNO, Calif. — Nineteen local water authorities in California San Joaquin Valley on Oct. 24, 2014, sued the State Water Resources Control Board and seven other state and federal governmental entities in state court, saying the state board’s emergency drought restrictions this year illegally stopped water deliveries of Central Valley Project water that they are entitled to (Friant Water Authority, et al. v. State Water Resources Control Board, et al., No. 14CEG03269, Calif. Super., Fresno Co.).
