9th Circuit Affirms Dismissal Of TILA And UCL Claims Against Banks

Mealey's (December 22, 2015, 3:25 PM EST) -- PASADENA, Calif. — The Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals on Dec. 14 affirmed a trial court's ruling dismissing claims asserted by borrowers in relation to a loan modification, finding that the Truth in Lending Act (TILA) did not apply to the assignment of their deed and that they failed to establish standing to support their claim for violation of California's unfair competition law (UCL) (Mohammad Ali Talaie, et al. v.
