4th Circuit Hears Arguments Over Sufficiency Of Evidence In Asbestos Case

(December 22, 2015, 11:59 AM EST) -- RICHMOND, Va. — A widow and five defendants on Dec. 9 argued before the Fourth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals over the level of circumstantial evidence of asbestos exposure required to overcome summary judgment (Lisa Covington, et al. v. MCIC Inc., et al., No. 14-2055, 4th Cir.).

Lisa Covington filed suit in the Baltimore County, Md., Circuit Court in November 2008 against numerous companies whose conduct allegedly exposed Otis Garnes to asbestos, leading to his death from lung cancer.
