Calif. Federal Judge Certifies Classes Of College Athletes In Pay Cap Suit

(December 17, 2015, 11:00 AM EST) -- OAKLAND, Calif. — A California federal judge on Dec. 4 granted a joint motion for class certification of injunctive relief classes filed by current and former collegiate athletes who have challenged the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s (NCAA) restriction on the compensation of student-athletes for their athletic performance (In Re National Collegiate Athletic Association Athletic Grant-In-Aid Cap Antitrust Litigation, No. 14-2541, Martin Jenkins, et al. v. National Collegiate Athletic Association, et al., No. 14-2758, N.D. Calif.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 163878).
