Federal Agency Says Groups’ Claim Challenging Fracking Leases ‘Not Ripe’

(December 11, 2015, 2:29 PM EST) -- SALT LAKE CITY — The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) on Nov. 16 filed a brief in Utah federal court contending that the State of Wyoming’s case challenging oil and gas leases that were approved by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM), a division of the DOI, is “not ripe” and should be dismissed (Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance, et al. v. U.S. Department of the Interior, et al., No. 15-00194, D. Utah).
