Pennsylvania Sues Fracking Company For Royalty Payment Violations

(December 11, 2015, 11:54 AM EST) -- TOWANDA, Pa. — The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on Dec. 9 filed a lawsuit in state court against Chesapeake Energy Corp. (CEC) and other fracking entities associated with it, contending that the Office of the Attorney General has received landowners complaints alleging that the defendants have engaged in unfair and deceptive acts concerning royalty payments (The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania v. Chesapeake Energy Corp., et al., No. 2015IR0069, Pa. Comm. Pls., Bradford Co.).
