10th Circuit: County Is Sheriff’s Office Employee’s Employer For Bias Suit
(December 9, 2015, 2:38 PM EST) -- DENVER — The 10th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals on Nov. 27 reinstated an age and disability discrimination suit filed by a former Grant County, Okla., Sheriff’s Office employee against the county, finding that for the purposes the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the county qualifies as the statutory employer (Twilladean Cink v. Grant County, Oklahoma, et al., No. 15-6030, 10th Cir.; 2015 U.S. App. LEXIS 20621).
