Federal Judge: Statute Of Limitations Has Not Run On MTBE Claims
(December 7, 2015, 2:35 PM EST) -- NEW YORK — A federal judge in New York on Dec. 3 denied a second motion to dismiss litigation relating to groundwater contamination from the gasoline additive methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), concluding that the statute of limitations on the action had been tolled (In re: Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether [MTBE] Products Liability Litigation, MDL 1358, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico v. Shell Oil Co., et al., Nos. 07-10470, 14-1014, S.D. N.Y.; 2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 150218).
