Government Moves To Dismiss Manslaughter Claims Against 2 BP Well Site Leaders

Mealey's (December 4, 2015, 12:58 PM EST) -- NEW ORLEANS — The federal government said in a voluntary motion to dismiss filed Dec. 2 in Louisiana federal court that the dismissal of 11 counts of manslaughter brought against two BP Exploration and Production Inc. well site leaders who were supervisors on the Deepwater Horizon oil rig, which exploded April 20, 2010, and resulted in an oil spill that discharged approximately 3.5 million barrels of oil into the Gulf of Mexico, is supported by “the interests of justice” (United States of America v. Robert Kaluza, et al., No. 12-cr-00265, E.D. La.)....
