Widow Tells Arkansas Court Lack Of Workers’ Comp Remedy Warrants Tort Action

(November 30, 2015, 8:28 PM EST) -- LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — An Arkansas appeals court on Nov. 12 declined to dismiss or stay an appeal, allowing a widow to proceed with her argument that she should have a tort remedy against her husband’s former employer because no valid remedy existed in the workers’ compensation system (Brenda Hendrix v. Alcoa Inc., No. 15-558, Ark. App.).
