Panel: Restaurant Had A Duty To Protect Patron From Errant Soccer Ball

(November 23, 2015, 10:48 AM EST) -- LOS ANGELES — A restaurant with an outdoor dining area had a reasonable duty to protect its patrons from the foreseeable dangers of soccer balls being kicked from a neighboring soccer field, a California appeals panel found Nov. 9, reversing a trial court’s finding that the restaurant had no liability for such third-party dangers (Isbel Neira v. Campclar Corp., No. B258473, Calif. App., 2nd Dist.; 2015 Cal. App. Unpub. LEXIS 8112).
