California Attorney General, Teachers’ Unions Ask High Court To Uphold Abood

(November 23, 2015, 7:00 AM EST) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The California attorney general and teachers unions filed two briefs on Nov. 6, asking the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold its nearly four-decade-old decision in Abood v. Detroit Bd. of Ed. (431 U.S. 209 [1977]) concerning agency-fee requirements for non-union workers (Rebecca Friedrichs, et al. v. California Teachers Association, et al., No. 14-915, U.S. Sup.).
