Insurer Sues Reinsurer Same Day It Bills Reinsurer For Coverage Under Agreement

(November 20, 2015, 1:31 PM EST) -- NEW HAVEN, Conn. — An insurer told a federal court in Connecticut on Nov. 19 that it anticipates that its alleged reinsurer will not honor a $127,067.15 reinsurance billing in a timely manner (The Travelers Indemnity Company v. Excalibur Reinsurance Corporation, No. 15-cv-01697, D. Conn.).

The Travelers Indemnity Co., as successor in interest to Gulf Insurance Co., sued Excalibur Reinsurance Corp., f/k/a PMA Capital Insurance Co., in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut for breach of contract.
