6th Circuit: Fracking Company Improperly Terminated Deal To Buy Oil And Gas Leases
(November 17, 2015, 3:56 PM EST) -- CINCINNATI — A panel of the Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals on Nov. 13 ruled that a company that backed out on a deal to buy oil and gas leases for hydraulic fracturing improperly terminated the deal and failed to follow the dispute-resolution provisions contained in the agreement (Broad Street Energy Company v. Endeavor Ohio LLC, No. 14-4223/12-4278, 6th Cir.; 2015 U.S. App. LEXIS 19751).
