Mealey's (November 13, 2015, 8:32 AM EST) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. government on Nov. 9 appealed a federal judge’s ruling that U.S. Department of Health and Human Services overstepped its power in applying the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA)’s minimum insurance coverage requirements to fixed indemnity insurance plans (Central United Life Inc., et al. v. Sylvia Burwell, et al., No. 14-1954, D. D.C.).
