Government Points To 2nd Circuit Ruling In 9th Circuit Data Collection Suit

Mealey's (November 12, 2015, 2:18 PM EST) -- SEATTLE — In an appeal concerning the constitutionality of the National Security Agency’s telephony metadata collection program, the federal government defendants filed a letter in the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals on Nov. 10, suggesting that a recent Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruling in a similar case over the data collection program supports a judgment affirming dismissal of the present case (Anna J. Smith v. Barack Obama, et al., No. 14-3555, 9th Cir.).
