Entertainment Lawyers Ask High Court To Review Copyright Infringement Suit Over Film

(November 12, 2015, 7:39 AM EST) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The California Society of Entertainment Lawyers filed an amicus curiae brief on Oct. 29 in support of a screenwriter’s petition with the U.S. Supreme Court to review whether James Cameron and his film company, Lightstorm Entertainment Inc., failed to present evidence to refute claims of copyright infringement in their film “Avatar” (Gerald Morawski v. Lightstorm Entertainment, Inc., et al., No. 15-382, U.S. Sup.).
